New Phone!

No one ever checks this thing.

Say hello to Tommy Gun! (after the Clash song, not the actual gun. Mom didn't know, just wanted to make that clear).

You can't really tell but it has a cute blue Winnie the Pooh background. And the ring tone is "Train in Vain" by the Clash. I also bought "Scar Tissue" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers (both are "real" tones and sound very good). My phone is totally pimped out. It's awesome :)

I watched "Emma" with my Mom tonight! ...and slept through the last 3rd of the movie...fail. But she said she didn't mind. And I know how it ends anyway. I'm still a sucker for those types of movies. We rented "Emma" along with two others ("A Philadelphia Story" and "...Better Off Dead") but we just bought "Sense and Sensibility" and watched it last week, so we're so on a role. :)

*sigh* Well it looks like I'll have to get a new phone. I went to the Verizon store today and the guy checked it out, said the place where the charger goes it totally bent out of shape (no kidding, I could tell, thanks) and they're having a sale, so it might just be better to get a new phone all together (like new model) which I totally agree to because 1) This model I have sucks (even though I love Dennis) and 2) This model and charger have failed me twice now, and I'm peeved.

And while the guy was checking it out, he must have done something with the battery cause now Dennis is alive, so I could see a phone call and a few text messages I missed (because I couldn't charge him, he ran out of battery Monday night) but its ubber sad though cause he keeps beeping at me like "Charge me fool!" and I'm just like "I can't" and he's like "Well, suck, cause I'm dying"....I sound like a crazy person and I feel like a bad mother. I should have learned this as a kid: name something and you grow attached to it. Which brings me to....naming my new phone!

Okay, this is where you get to help! I'm thinking of something Clash related. My options (that I could think of): Janie Jones, Jimmy Jazz (which I love, but my phone before Dennis I was Jimmy (for James Dean) so I don't want to repeat, Joe Strummer (nice!), Mick, Paul, Topper (ooo!), these are all options. I dunno though. Leave thoughts in comments!

Fun Fact: Since requiring my very first phone like...summer before high school, names have followed. Names coincide with things I am then in love with. 1) Don't remember...bummer 2) Jimmy (for James Dean, mentioned above) 3) Dennis! I and II after I got him replaced last September (for Flogging Molly guitarist Dennis Casey (met and hugged that middle aged prime o' meat! :p he had on a very cool striped sweater vest, okay I'm gonna stop))

OH, I'm sorry, one more thing. I am working on my story! I finally got completely inspired! So yay for that! If I feel brave later on after I work on it a bunchies, I may post some if anyone is interested. Inspiration hits late at night, go figure.

Spring?

I hope Springness will get here soon, because I am ready for warm weather and more happiness. And better days, Coldplay, Pushing Daisies maybe on DVD? (We can only hope).

So my week has been crappy. Life is always filled with ups and downs, but I seem to have this cool little ability to dwell on the downs more than the ups lately and its gonna come and get me soon in very not good ways.

Dennis is dead, which most have already heard about, so boo for that.

Still no Warpaint EP available through their MySpace. :( Must be patient. But I've been keeping tabs on what they've been up to, and they're doing really well and keeping busy, so who can blame them?

I'm reading a new book for my English Short Story Class, The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie, you guessed it, a collection of short stories. and by "reading" I mean I'm suppost to be reading it (I'll no doubt start this weekend).

And I've decided if I could be like any other culture, I so want to be British. :)

P.S. I'm currently revamping my wardrobe, so I've been on a major clothes hunt of flowy/hippie dresses. I found the cute T strap shoes at Overstock, for a price decent for designer shoes, but they're leather, and I can't stand that, my heart breaks a little.

Life and Warpaint

I'm not sure what to write, but I want to write something. School is good, but I've got to get up on homework here and now (no repeat of last term, it was oh so bad). Eating some Mexican food Sister Beddes brought over. I'm so sick of forcing myself to eat the meat (tonight chicken) that people bring over. Hello beans and cheese sidedish, you are my friend. I don't want to starve, so I'll eat it and I'm not ungrateful for the food. New Goal: in desperate need of a Vegetarian Cookbook. And I mean now.
On a happier note, um, life's is really good. And I'm starting to realize how blessed I actually am, It's just easy to find the little nit picky flaws in life, and to blog complain. No worries though, Michelle is a happy camper. And seeing life for what it really is.
P.S. Warpaint posted a blog, saying the EP will be avaiable for us "beautiful people" online in 4-6 weeks. All I want now is a shirt to become avaiable as well, and I will be overjoyed like to no other. To the cosmos and back.
